James has been working with clients to develop the internet in Saskatchewan, Canada, and internationally for 13 years. In that period he has provided client liaison, site design, programming, scripting, technical support, and training services to clients.

James has been working in the computer industry for 22 years. His experience includes mainframe, mini-computer, PC, and network environments. James previously worked as a professional research consultant designing and utilising databases, and working with information storage and retrieval systems on local and wide area networks in dedicated and virtual private network environments. Business technology analysis was a specialty area.

James is highly knowledgeable with MS-DOS, Windows, Windows 95/98/ME, Windows XP, several varieties of UNIX, Linux, and is familiar with Windows NT, Mac, and Lotus. James has also worked with video and audio new media development. James has used Director, various video editting suites, and Visual Basic for new media work.

James has been a juror for the Canadian New Media Awards for 2 years, and actively mentors up and coming New Media designers as part of his contribution to the industry.

James has worked in the following areas at BFS:

James is a founding member and has served as President, Vice President, and Board Member (4 years) of the Saskatchewan New Media Developers Association (SNMDA).

James was also a founding board member of the Great Plains FreeNet.

James attended the University of Regina and also currently teaches courses for the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) in the areas of: Internet, HTML, Windows, Computer Technology, and Computer Programming. Under contract for the World Bank James taught classes in technology awareness, management, and deployment training as part of the India Project for New Media.

Mark Suggitt is a graphic designer with substantial experience in publication layout and design. Having worked with paper publication for a decade, Mark’s ongoing interest in computers and publishing led him to the internet. As a premier internet site designer in Saskatchewan Mark has been in high demand to teach courses and speak at conferences.

Mark has experience working with desktop multi-media and video and audio, having developed a local area TV network at the University of Regina using the University's wide area Fibre Optic Network. Mark's desktop video experiences dates to the earliest Video Toasters which were produced and his keen interest has kept him close ever since. Mark has worked in advertising and promotions and has successfully developed numerous publications and advertising tools for clients for markets in Canada and Europe.

Mark worked on the internet before it was cool and has been at the forefront of web design since the World Wide Web and HTML were created. Mark is highly knowledgeable with the Macintosh platform and has provided tier 3 support for Windows users. Mark is familiar with UNIX and uses Perl, PHP3, C, Applescript, and databases to enhance his web sites. Mark works with Quicktime, Quicktime VR, WebCams, MPEG, MP3, Real Audio/Video and other multi-media tools.

Mark also teaches Photoshop, HTML, Windows, Internet, MS FrontPage and internet design for the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST).

Mark has worked in the personal computing environment since the first PC’s were built in the 1970’s.

Mark Sexton, Designer

Mark Sexton is a professional graphic artist with 20 odd years of experience. Mark’s background includes professional artwork, newspaper advertising design, custom publication development, logos, brochures, business cards, web graphics, posters, and even trade show displays. Mark is brilliant with PhotoShop and is a speed-demon under deadline. He always meets the challenges put to him.

Mark's creative work graces not just client pages but also work that BFS has done for community organisations in Saskatchewan.
