As the heir of Duke Leto Atreides, Paul vows to avenge his fathers murder at the hands of the accursed Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, through his instrument, Dr. Yueh.

Of course unknown to Paul, he is also the Messiah that the fremen, indigenous to the desert planet have been waiting for. That coupled with the fact that he is also the "Kwisatz Haderach" the supreme product of Bene Gesserit Sisterhood's long line of genetic tampering, make Paul the obvious choice for the role of "king" on the green or Atreides side.

Paul is wearing his traditional stillsuit and the desert camouflage cloak of this people, the fremen. However he doesn't forget his father or his responsibility to house Atreides. He wears the family uniform over his fremen garb.
